Ethan Chiang

Master of Architecture Student at Yale University

Ethan Chiang is a RIBA Part I Architectural Designer. Born in 1997, he grew up in international school settings in Hong Kong, which fuelled his desire to learn about different cultures, and to be socially-engaged with the world. Ethan is committed to addressing climate change and sustainability through design, and is particularly interested in architecture of the tropics. His background and interests in visual arts, music and sports largely inform his design approach.

Ethan was previously an Architectural Designer at Kengo Kuma & Associates in Tokyo, and most recently received a Master of Architecture [M.Arch I] degree from Yale University in 2024. He completed his BSSc in Architectural Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2015-19), with a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore (2018).

In 2017, Ethan won the Best Student Architecture Award at the Asia-Pacific wide A&D Trophy Awards for his project [Endless Bounds] - A Tropical Rowing Center. The project was featured and published in Perspective Magazine’s 2017 December issue.
